The Power to Report

The print4mobile™ Engine provides the capability to use the report specification files created in the Designer to generate reports on a mobile computing device. The Engine generates these reports using data stored in a Microsoft SQL Server CE database located on the mobile computing device.

The Engine is specifically designed as a small footprint software that is installed on each mobile computing device that will utilize the reporting and printing capabilities of the print4mobile™ solution. It has low resource utilization but high report processing efficiency, making it well suited to run on mobile computing devices together with larger and more resources intensive mobile business applications.

Utilizing the Engine

Although the print4mobile™ Engine actually contains the core components required for report generation and portable printing, it has no user interface to allow you to tap into those capabilities. Instead, you must either embed the print4mobile™ Engine capabilities into your mobile application software or use the standalone print4mobile™ Viewer application.
